About the Artist/Site
Built 850 whirligigs/windmills; 751 left at time of death. Some went to Seattle substation (Viewland-Hoffman), some to daughter. Approx. 151 at park. Made of found objects such as teacups, boots, gardening implements, plastic, etc. Veva painted them. Were made for enjoyment of children. Also: Sherry Markowitz, artist (Seattle) who worked on substation project.
