The James Tellen Woodland Sculpture Garden is nestled in the Town of Wilson woods just south of Sheboygan

About the Artist/Site

Inspired by churchyard statues while recovering from an illness.  Began in 1942, continued for 15 yrs.  84’x 588’ lot. Concrete sculptures. More than 75 works in the woods around his former cottage. Subjects include animals, religious themes, etc. Tableaux with elves; scene of drunken men. Maintained by his family. Now cared for by the John Michael Kohler Arts Center.
