About the Artist/Site
Roehrick was a man with many interests and many business ventures. He married Glossie Mae Boyette on Christmas Day in 1948. She and her husband had several children, 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Together they owned a gas station, restaurants, and gift shops as well as the miniature golf course that recounted the story of the Pony Express Trail as it passed from St. Joseph, Missouri to Sacramento, CA. Roehrick told this story via painted concrete sculptures, including an Indian tepee, constructed mountains, and various figures and animals.
