About the Artist/Site

William Pumphrey uses discarded materials he finds or is gifted to create military-inspired constructions like ships and planes that fill his North Charlotte apartment. He starts with common base materials like “a long cardboard box” or “empty paper towel rollers” that he then transforms into large naval vessels or WWI Red Baron Planes, respectively. Pumphrey’s inspiration – “Love of the Navy. Love of art. Love of pure creation.”
