About the Artist/Site

Jess Boyce created a miniature village in his yard using rocks from all over the world, and bottle caps as shingles and wall adornment. Inside his garage were many museum-like objects that he displayed for visitors to see.

This site is no longer extant but it was well-documented by photographer Bill Clarke, who grew up nearby. The Garden is also allegedly one of the only sites in Phillipsburg to be featured in a National Geographic magazine. It was dismantled and razed in 1968 and replaced with a gas station.
